There's No Need To Live In Hormone Hell! - Maryon Stewart there's no need to live in hormone hell! There’s No Need To Live In Hormone Hell! cartoons

I was asked this week to describe the typical woman that I specialise in helping. It actually stopped me in my tracks as I have never been asked this question before during my 30 year career.  Whilst I acknowledge each woman’s suffering, I usually place my focus firmly on the solution to help overcome their symptoms, rather than dwelling the horror of each individual situation.  When I really started thinking about the answer it hit me like a ton of bricks that millions of women are in a really bad place, often for much of their adult life.  And both the medical profession and the media practically ignore the fact, or at best glosses over it.  To say the very least it was a sobering exercise that left me feeling a mixture of emotions ranging from anger, disbelief, frustration and devastation. My audience is made up of mostly women.  To … Read More

I’m often asked… ‘What are the different stages of menopause’ and ‘How do I know what stage of menopause I am at’? POSTMENOPAUSE: You postmenopausal years are all of those years after the menopause.  During this stage, menopausal symptoms, such as hot flushes, can ease for many women. With science-based education for women on my mind, this summer I developed, and launched, a 6-week Cruising Through the Menopause Boot Camp.  The goal was to provide women with the tools from the Natural Health Advisory Service Programme to devise a tailor-made version for themselves to help manage their perimenopause and the often depressing and debilitating symptoms of the menopause.  The degree of positive change after just six weeks is heart-warming as many women report feeling much more like their old selves and no longer scared or plagued by severe symptoms. A poll of menopause women in my Facebook Group Natural Menopause – Making the Midlife Switch revealed that many women at perimenopause and menopause are feeling confused and overwhelmed by their symptoms; unsure about how to deal with them and not even certain that they can.  They often feel distraught, depressed and desperate at this life stage, clinging on … Read More
