Today I'm focusing on skin at midlife because we all want to keep looking as well as we can, and we often look around us and see older women who have got wrinkled and very dry skin which make them look like they’re past their sell by date, and we don't want that to happen to us!
Here are three ways to help you tackle wrinkles at midlife…
Diet: The first way to avoid your skin looking old is through your diet. Until you get to the menopause or perimenopause, you've got lots of circulating oestrogen and that's how we function when we're going through our childbearing years. When you get to the menopause, your ovaries stop functioning, and that oestrogen level falls which means the little factories in your body that have been making all those lovely new cells to keep your skin nice and youthful start to close down because oestrogen is disappearing off the scene. So what we need to do with our diet, as well as making sure that we're having plenty of good nutrients to keep our functions going normally, we also need to make sure that we're having naturally occurring oestrogen. Foods like soy and linseed have been shown to help to put back oestrogen into our system. You can fool the brain into thinking you've got normal circulating oestrogen again.
Take supplements: Â The second thing is to take some supplements because amazingly research has shown that additional soy-based supplements not just can you hydrate your skin, but can also reduce the depths of wrinkles quite significantly. I always try and point people in the direction of these supplements so that they can have the benefit of turning back the biological clock effectively.
Chemical free makeup: Lastly you can use beauty products that have plenty of hydrating factors to help your skin look glowing and youthful. I recommend you go for the ones without the parabens and the ones with lots of natural oils and natural herbal products. You can go and find some of those in my shop, and you can get some discount as well at the same time if you put MidlifeSwitch2017 in as your code.
So if you want to look 10 years younger, you need to get to work, but there's plenty that you can do to benefit your skin and help wrinkles at midlife.
